The 2023 State of Housing in Harris County and Houston report released by Rice University’s Kinder Institute for Urban Research states the challenges faced by renters due to escalating rent prices, the prevalence of housing cost burdens among renter households, concerns about rental housing conditions and the impact on households with children.
