Texans have through May 29 to weigh in on the first draft of the 2027 State Water Plan, and the Texas Water Development Board is expected to adopt a final version of the plan later this year. The plan projects that state and local governments will need to spend $174 billion in the next 50 years to prevent a water crisis.
