The Texas House was set to convene at 1 p.m. Aug. 8 in a third attempt to reach a 100-member quorum after dozens of Democrats left the state days earlier to protest a congressional redistricting plan. Attorney General Ken Paxton has said he will sue to vacate the offices of lawmakers who are absent at that time.
