Texas DPS requests funding for 1,200 new staff members to cut driver license wait times

As Texas’ population grows and people seek REAL ID-compliant licenses, the Texas Department of Public Safety is asking lawmakers for nearly $229 million to hire additional driver license staff and improve technology.
