Quebedeaux Park in downtown Houston is named after Walter A. Quebedeaux, a lawyer who served 22 years as Harris County’s director of air and water pollution control. A master plan for the park was approved by Harris County commissioners that will redevelop the park and surrounding area into a green space that will not only serve as a space for restaurants, shops and community gathering, but also as the memorial for Harris County lynching victims.

Renovations to improve three operating rooms at HCA Houston Healthcare Kingwood began in October, according to a Texas Department of
