Houston City Council member proposes directing $50M in disaster recovery funds toward housing

Houston City Council member Tiffany Thomas is proposing to direct $50 million toward housing programs as part of the city’s funding plan for the $314 million in federal funding for disaster recovery efforts, a proposal supported by Mayor John Whitmire during the July 30 City Council meeting.
