Houston-area schools, colleges extend closures following Hurricane Beryl

As the Greater Houston area continues its recovery efforts from Hurricane Beryl’s passage through the region on July 8, schools and colleges announced extended closures through July 10.  According to CenterPoint’s outage tracker, approximately 1.6 million people in Houston remained without power as of 4:27 p.m. July 9.
