Harris County district attorney, law enforcement miss out on millions after tax rate vote standoff

With the commissioners unable to adopt a tax rate higher than the no-new-revenue rate, budgets for the district attorney, eight constable precincts and the sheriff’s office patrol are a combined $30.15 million less than originally proposed.
